Datapac secures €2.8m in Managed Service contracts

Datapac announced that it secured €2.8M in new managed service contracts with public and private sector organisations in 2012. It expects to increase this by a further 15% to €3.2M in 2013. These revenues are for the proactive management of customer’s ICT and print infrastructures.

Datapac placed a strong focus on developing its managed services offering in 2012, investing €200,000 in its network operations centre, a private cloud infrastructure and a growing managed service portfolio.

Demand for Datapac’s managed services is being driven by a need for organisations to reduce costs, while also ensuring they have the best and latest IT infrastructures in place to remain competitive. As the IT skills gap continues and organisations look for ways to do more with less, they are increasingly outsourcing the management of their IT systems to Datapac.

Datapac has grown its managed service offering to cover the entire ICT spectrum, including voice, data, business applications, mobility, security, unified communications, cloud and print. It is also continuing to grow its managed services team to ensure it has the expertise and accreditations in place for all of its offerings.

Emerging trends inside and outside the workplace have also influenced the new managed service solutions being offered by Datapac. It has launched upgraded offerings which allow organisations in Ireland to take advantage of new technology patterns such as Bring Your Own Device (BYOD). Datapac’s proactive new service removes the complexities associated with managing multiple mobile devices.

Datapac’s managed services team of 15 highly-trained and accredited IT professionals proactively monitor 400 managed service customers from its expanding network operations centre. This team is supported by a further 44 Datapac technicians throughout Ireland who provide onsite customer support. Datapac expects these numbers to grow further in 2013.

Karen O’Connor, General Manager Service Delivery, Datapac commented, “In 2012, we really upped the focus on our managed services platform and delivery. We believe that we now have the most comprehensive managed services portfolio available in Ireland, all being run by a highly accredited, knowledgeable and experienced managed service delivery team. This expertise adds real value to the relationships we have with our customers as we have the capability to deliver a service that suits each of their unique needs. There are many new developments and next generation technologies that will continue to drive the adoption of managed services this year. The availability of 4G will be a game changer allowing far more people to work remotely than ever before in Ireland, placing new challenges on organisations. Datapac will continue to strategically invest in our service platform, offerings and people to ensure we can effectively manage all of these evolving requirements.”
