Microsoft Network Access Protection (NAP) is a solution that controls access to network resources based on a client-computer’s identity and compliance with company policy. NAP allows network administrators to define levels of network access, and if a client is not compliant, NAP provides a mechanism to automatically bring the client back into compliance and then dynamically increase its level of network access.
Cisco Network Admission Control (NAC) allows only compliant and trusted endpoint devices onto the network by enabling network administrators to authenticate wired, wireless and remote users and their machines prior to network access. It identifies whether networked devices such as laptops, IP phones, or game consoles are compliant with your network's security policies and repairs any vulnerabilities before permitting access to the network. By restricting the access of non-compliant devices, the potential damage from emerging security threats and risks is greatly reduced.
