The sensors can be deployed widely and incrementally on servers and endpoints, as dedicated appliances, and as service modules on routers, switches, and firewalls. They collaborate and adapt in real time to emerging threats.

Cisco Security Agent deploys a host IPS to monitor processes on the host, thereby providing protection against both worms and viruses. It prevents malicious activity on the host by focusing on behaviour rather than focusing exclusively on the attacks that are seen in the reconnaissance phases of network attacks. By changing the focus to behaviour, damaging activity can be detected and blocked-regardless of the attack.
