Cloud computing is now playing a more important role in Irish organisations than ever before and is set to grow considerably again this year. A key element to incorporating a successful cloud computing solution in your organisation is ensuring resilience and high availability for mission critical applications.
Datapac, in association with KEMP, recently conducted research among almost 100 IT professionals in Ireland to identify trends in cloud and application sets prioritised for high availability.
In this paper we critically assess the findings of the research and offer advice for Irish organisations around disaster recovery and application resilience and availability.
Survey findings include:
- Cloud computing is set to grow significantly in 2016
- All companies have critical business applications (on average companies manage 4-6 critically available applications)
- The top three application sets that companies already deployed in HA are Web Services, Exchange and Remote Desktop Services
- 25% of companies currently don’t have a DR solution
