Datapac completes digital transformation that enhances data storage, data security and mobile working in €200K deal with Kefron
- New technology infrastructure will allow Kefron to grow with confidence in an increasingly digitised and competitive industry
Dublin, 8th September 2018 – Datapac, Ireland’s leading technology solutions and services provider, today announces that it has completed a digital transformation project for information and document management company, Kefron. In a deal worth €200,000, Datapac’s digital transformation solution enhances data storage, security and remote working capabilities for Kefron.
Founded in Dublin, Kefron is a leading information and document management company, and employs more than 150 people throughout Ireland and the UK. It provides solutions including document scanning and storage services, accounts payable automation, electronic document management solutions and archive consulting to customers across the legal, financial, and public sectors, among others.
To manage and secure growing data volumes and enhance its digitisation capabilities, Kefron needed to access and maintain a highly efficient, reliable and scalable IT infrastructure. Security is also paramount as the company is responsible for the storage and management of many thousands of business files and documents, from its growing customer base.
Following a competitive tender, Datapac was chosen to complete the digital transformation project at Kefron. This included replacing several of the company’s servers and installing an advanced new Storage Area Network (SAN) platform. Datapac also deployed an Office 365 solution for Kefron, providing employees with the ability to work remotely.
To comply with the highest levels of security including Kefron’s ongoing compliance to the ISO 27001 information security standard, Datapac implemented two-factor authentication across all devices, improving the security of confidential business documents. As part of the deal, Datapac is providing proactive support and management of Kefron’s ICT infrastructure.
Jonathan Purvis, IT manager, Kefron, said: “From the outset we knew that this would be a major project, especially given the fact that our stringent service level agreements with customers meant that it needed to be carried out without causing any downtime whatsoever. Datapac managed the entire implementation with confidence and expertise, ensuring no disruption whatsoever.
“We now have an advanced IT infrastructure that offers the highest levels of performance and security, which are absolutely critical in our industry. Datapac’s managed solution will enable us to continue to provide a great service to existing customers, while giving us the ability to seamlessly on-board new clients as we look to grow and expand in Ireland and the UK.”
Lisa Collins, business relationship manager, Datapac, said: “Kefron is a real Irish success story, having grown from a small local operation to one of the foremost document management providers operating throughout Ireland and the UK. Datapac was uniquely positioned to design, implement and manage their upgraded IT infrastructure. We’ve increased flexibility and productivity across Kefron’s entire organisation and enabled their employees to fully embrace mobile working. We also provided them with the storage and security platform they need to allow them to grow with confidence in an increasingly digitised and competitive industry”.

“The value of dealing with an HP Gold partner in this process can’t be underestimated. Datapac provide us with a local touch and can cover the full range of our IT requirements, but when there is a specific technical requirement like this, they can bring the specialist technical resources of HP to the table. HP and Datapac had a thorough discussion with us around our requirement - and had really done their homework - and then were able to provide us with a very highly specified test platform for us to prove the application on before we committed to purchase.”
