Business Development Graduate Programme

Build a commercial career in technology

Find Your Future

Our Business Development Graduate Programme is a two-year route into a commercial career in technology. There are many ways to build a career in tech, and some of the most rewarding roles in the industry are not technical at all. They are commercial: understanding what a customer is trying to achieve, and helping them get there.

Over two years, you will move through every stage of the commercial cycle, from your first customer conversation to leading a public sector tender response, with experienced colleagues alongside you the whole way.

You don't need to be technical to build a career in tech.

You need to be curious, and ready to learn.

How The Two Years Work

Stage 1: Sales Administration

You’ll learn how a B2B sales environment really runs: handling enquiries, quoting products and services, processing orders, keeping customers informed. It’s the groundwork, and where the most valuable commercial habits are formed.

Stage 2: Service Operations

You’ll spend time inside the teams that deliver for our customers, seeing what goes into a great outcome. You’ll come away able to talk confidently about our full range of services, and with a real understanding of how the business works.

Stage 3: Account Management

You’ll co-manage a small book of accounts alongside an experienced mentor, learning where your customers’ businesses are heading and how Datapac can help. You become their advocate inside Datapac.

Stage 4 - Business Development

Winning new customers is one of the most valuable things anyone learns in business. With your foundations in place, you’ll put them to work in targeted outreach to new prospects across a range of channels.

Stage 5: Public Sector Contracts

In Ireland, public sector contracts are a powerful lever for growth, and Datapac has won them for decades. You’ll support our bids team on tenders, then get the chance to lead them yourself.

Mentorship Every Step Of The Way

An experienced mentor is with you throughout, and every stage is structured so you take on each new challenge only once you’re ready. You learn how to thrive at commercial work within a team that has already walked the path.

Industry-Recognised Qualifications

You’ll earn industry-recognised qualifications from leading vendors, plus training in project management and communication. Whatever you do next, you’ll leave knowing how to understand a customer and win their trust.
