IT Infrastructure

Server and Storage

The right hardware, specified correctly, makes everything else work better. We help you get it right first time

Get in Touch

On-premises infrastructure remains the right choice for many organisations. Whether you are refreshing ageing hardware that has reached end of vendor support, replacing equipment that is affecting performance and reliability, or simply planning your next upgrade cycle, getting the specification right is what determines whether the investment delivers what you need.

Datapac works with organisations across Ireland to supply, specify, and implement server and storage solutions that are built around actual requirements. We bring deep technical expertise, strong vendor relationships, and the experience to recommend what is right for your environment.

Compute

The right server platform underpins everything your organisation does. We work with organisations to understand their workloads, their growth trajectory, and their tolerance for downtime, and we recommend server solutions that meet those requirements precisely. Getting the specification right at the outset avoids the cost and disruption of addressing shortfalls further down the line.

As a leading HPE partner in Ireland, we have the accreditation, the expertise, and the supply relationships to deliver HPE server platforms at competitive terms and with the technical support to back them up.

Storage

Data volumes constantly grow. Storage environments that were adequate two or three years ago are frequently struggling today, whether that manifests as slower performance, reduced capacity headroom, or increasing complexity in how data is managed across the organisation. A storage refresh, done well, resolves all three.

We help organisations evaluate their current storage environment, understand where the gaps are, and implement solutions that provide the capacity, performance, and manageability they need.

Accredited Expertise, Backed By Strong Vendor Relationships

Our technical engineers and architects hold some of the highest levels of accreditation available from our technology partners, meaning the advice you receive is grounded in genuine technical depth. We recommend what is right for your environment and have the expertise to implement and support it properly.

Not Sure Exactly What You Need?

If you have a sense that your infrastructure needs attention but are unsure of the right specification or scope, our free Infrastructure Optimisation Assessment is designed for exactly that situation. It gives you an objective picture of your current environment and a clear basis for making the right decision, before any commitment is made.

Discuss Your Requirements

Tell us what you are working with and what you are trying to achieve. We will give you an honest assessment of your options and help you move forward with confidence.

Questions about Servers and Storage?

The most common indicators are hardware approaching or past end of vendor support, increasing frequency of failures or unplanned downtime, performance that no longer meets the demands being placed on it, and difficulty sourcing replacement parts or firmware updates. If your server is out of warranty and no longer covered by manufacturer support, the risk profile of continuing to run it increases significantly.

Every server platform has a defined support lifecycle, after which the manufacturer no longer provides firmware updates, security patches, or hardware support. Running end-of-life hardware exposes your organisation to unpatched vulnerabilities, leaves you without recourse if a critical component fails, and can create compliance issues depending on your regulatory environment. Planning a refresh before end of life is significantly less disruptive than reacting to a failure after it.

The right specification depends on your current workloads, the applications you are running, your capacity requirements over the next three to five years, and your tolerance for downtime. Oversizing wastes budget. Undersizing creates performance problems quickly. We work with organisations to understand those requirements properly before recommending anything, ensuring the solution is right for where you are and where you are going.

Yes. Datapac is a leading HPE partner in Ireland, with the accreditation, supply relationships, and technical expertise to supply, configure, and install HPE server platforms for organisations of all sizes. Our engineers are HPE certified and experienced in deploying HPE infrastructure across a wide range of environments.

That depends entirely on your organisation's requirements, data sovereignty considerations, connectivity, and the nature of your workloads. On-premises infrastructure remains the right choice for many organisations, and a hardware refresh is often the most straightforward and cost-effective path forward. If you are genuinely unsure, our Infrastructure Assessment can help you evaluate the options objectively before making a decision.

Yes. Many organisations refresh both as part of a single project, which allows for better integration between compute and storage layers and a more cohesive outcome overall. Where a phased approach makes more sense, we can plan for that too. We will work around your priorities and your budget.
