Sustainability

Committed to the wellbeing of our people, our communities, and the world we all share

Talk to Us

For over four decades, Datapac has believed that how you do business matters as much as what you deliver. That belief extends to our environmental impact, our approach to diversity and inclusion, the governance standards we hold ourselves to, and the role we play in helping our customers meet their own sustainability goals.

Environmental

A Word First in Sustainable Technology Leadership

Datapac is proud to be recognised as the first HP Sustainability Sales Leader in the world. This accreditation is earned through demonstrated leadership in sustainable business practices and a proven ability to help customers make more environmentally responsible technology decisions.

For our customers, particularly those with their own sustainability obligations to meet, working with a HP Sustainability Sales Leader means access to a partner who understands how technology choices translate into real environmental outcomes.

ISO 14001 Certified Environmental Management

Our approach to environmental management is certified to ISO 14001, independently audited to verify that our processes for reducing environmental impact are systematic, documented, and continuously improving. Certification to this standard means that our environmental commitments are built into how we operate and how we measure our own performance.

Sustainable Operations in Practice

Our fleet optimisation system minimises unnecessary vehicle movements across our service operations, and we have introduced fully electric vehicles into our corporate fleet. For customer deliveries, we partner with logistics providers who share our commitment to reducing transport emissions, including those who have made significant investments in transitioning their fleets to lower-emission fuels. We also operate the HP Planet Partners cartridge recycling programme, ensuring empty printer cartridges are recycled and remanufactured rather than going to landfill.

Social and DE&I

Diverse Company of the Year

At the Diversity in Tech Awards 2025, Datapac was named Diverse Company of the Year. The award recognises organisations that have demonstrated genuine, sustained commitment to building a diverse and inclusive workplace, not through policy alone, but through the culture and programmes that define day-to-day working life.

For us, this recognition reflects the work of everyone in the organisation, and the belief that a more diverse team is a stronger, more capable, and more innovative one.

Diversity in Business Awards, ICT Category

Datapac was awarded the Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Award in the ICT category at the Diversity in Business Awards 2025. Winning in a category specific to our industry means this recognition comes from those who understand the particular challenges of building diverse and inclusive teams in the technology sector.

It is an independent validation that our approach to DE&I is embedded in how we recruit, how we develop our people, and how we lead as an organisation.

Investors in Diversity Silver

Datapac holds Investors in Diversity Silver accreditation from the Irish Centre for Diversity, Ireland’s premier independent standard for diversity and inclusion. Achieving Silver is a rigorous process. It requires an all-employee survey, independent analysis and benchmarking against national and sector data, and the development of a concrete action plan based on the findings.

Our People Come First

The health, safety, and wellbeing of everyone at Datapac is underpinned by our ISO 45001 certification, independently audited to verify that our approach to occupational health and safety meets the rigorous international standard. This certification sits alongside a broader set of programmes designed to support our people across all aspects of their working and personal lives.

From our Pathways Inclusion Initiative, which expands access to careers in technology, to our Thrive Wellbeing Programme and our Community Contribution Initiative, which gives every Datapac team member three additional paid days each year to volunteer with causes that matter to them, how we look after our people is as considered as how we look after our customers.

Helping Our Customer Be More Sustainable

Managed Print Services

Replacing fragmented device fleets with strategically placed multifunction printers reduces energy consumption significantly. Pull printing, where users authenticate before a job prints, cuts page volumes by 25 to 50 percent in many cases from first implementation. We can report on pages sent but never printed and translate that directly into environmental impact. Customers also benefit from access to the HP Planet Partners cartridge recycling programme.

Managed Print Services

IT Infrastructure

We assess how a customer’s existing environment is actually being used before recommending anything, ensuring that every solution is right-sized and avoids unnecessary energy overhead. We help customers consolidate ageing infrastructure into modern, energy-optimised platforms, and take a measured approach to cloud migration, identifying which workloads genuinely belong in the cloud and which are better kept on-premises.

IT Infrastructure

Managed IT Services

The majority of issues we resolve for customers are handled remotely from our support desk, reducing engineer travel and its associated emissions without compromising response times. Our managed services are also designed to support hybrid working, helping organisations reduce their on-premises energy consumption and office footprint while ensuring their people can work effectively from anywhere.

Managed IT Services

Device Lifecycle Management

We help customers extend the useful life of their devices through repair, refurbishment, and reuse. When devices reach end of life, secure data destruction protects sensitive information while physical components are recycled responsibly. For customers who want to give back, we can also facilitate the donation of out-of-warranty devices to community and digital inclusion programmes.

Why Public Sector IT in Ireland Starts With Getting the Foundations Right

AI adoption, improved data practices and digital-first service delivery are active priorities that leadership is expected to make measurable progress on. At the same time, budgets are under pressure, compliance obligations are growing more complex, and the technology foundations many public sector organisations are working from were not designed to carry any of this.
